Happy Holidaze

November has been another busy month and once again, I haven't been tending to my Whirled the way I should. But I've got some good stuff in the hopper -- including the latest on one of this blog's unfavorite serial scammers -- so stay tuned.

Meanwhile, I hope everyone who is observing any sort of holiday this holiday season is having, or will be having, happy one(s). Ron and I had a belated T-Day feast on November 28 -- a Friendsgiving, you might say -- celebrating with dear friends who are like family to us. And today we celebrated science by getting our COVID boosters.

Overall it's been a fairly crappy year for so many people, but there's still a lot to celebrate, and I think that better times are ahead. I'll see you here soon.

Geez, this blog has gone downhill quicker than an Olympic slalom team!

So you got a 'booster' - good for you, but please, don't sit there all smug and claim to be celebrating science by doing so. If you bothered to read the science other than that which morons like Fauci are shovelling down everyone's throats, you'd know that you're at a greater risk for Myocardial problems and developing spike proteins as a result of taking either Pfizer or Moderna shots.

There's absolutely NO science to suggest that unvaccinated people are putting anyone at risk! To even think so is comical at best!

And as for the continuous hatred towards Trump and the Right in general - nothing you've written recently even remotely backs up any of your claims. It seems you're happy to ignore reality so long as you can bash Trump and his supporters, and spout out endless insults as though you're correct and everyone else is wrong!

What happened to you? You used to have a fair and balanced view of things, paying homage where it was due, even if it didn't fit in with your own personal beliefs. Now you just come across as a delusional old whiner who seems pissed that life has treated her so bad!

Hello, Anon... or should I call you Bear7? If you want to comment anonymously on this blog, that's fine with me, but if you are who I think you are, and anonymity is your goal, then maybe you should disguise your histrionic, exclamation-point-infested, random-word-capitalization writing style a little bit better. Just a suggestion. Of course if I'm wrong about who you are, my apologies. Your identity doesn't really matter, because your comments indicate that you're like millions of other deluded Trumpcult members.

Now to your points. I realize I'm probably wasting my time by (once again?) addressing your bold but anonymous criticisms, but this is mainly for my own entertainment and for the amusement of the four or five other regular readers of this blog.

1. I am not "smug" about getting a booster, just grateful that I was able to get it with little effort. I stood in line for three hours earlier this year to get my original vaccination. I get that you're anti-vax... yawn… you’ve made that abundantly clear on this blog and elsewhere. But – again, if you're who I think you are -- your own blog is full of misinformation about the way vaccines work. NO vaccine is 100 percent effective at preventing the disease for which one is being vaccinated. No serious or credible advocate of vaccination makes this claim. Moreover every vaccine carries risks, and no serious or credible advocate of vaccination denies that fact. The COVID vaccines, however, seem to be quite effective at preventing serious illness and hospitalization and death from COVID.

Re myocardial risks: The risks for a wide range of conditions, including myocardial problems, are considerably greater from COVID than from the vaccine. Here is a recent brief commentary on Medscape, regarding a "study" that supposedly pointed to increased MI risks from the COVID vaccine.
https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/964358
But maybe that's not science-y enough for you. Perhaps you prefer more authoritative sources like Rumble or The Gateway Pundit. Your choice.

Re spike proteins: A recent fact-checking article which cites outside sources:
https://www.statesman.com/story/news/politics/politifact/2021/11/03/politifact-spike-proteins-generated-through-covid-vaccination-not-spread-illnesses/6248822001/
That’s probably much too "lame stream" for truth seekers like you, but others might be interested.

And by the way... just a general observation, not directly related to your comment above but relevant anyway, I suspect: Comparing vaccination requirements and mask mandates with the Holocaust is a gross insult to the victims of the Holocaust.

2. Maybe the "science" on your preferred sources denies that unvaccinated people are putting others at risk, but science outside of the right-wing conspiranoid echo chamber, as well as first-person reports from all too many frontline healthcare workers, strongly indicate that the unvaccinated do actually pose a health risk -- not only by spreading the virus to susceptible people, but also by taking up ICU beds in hospitals, preventing non-COVID patients from getting critical care they may need.

However, as the virus continues to mutate and produce more resilient variants, vaccinated people are not only at increased risk for getting the virus but for spreading it, especially if they are asymptomatic. Nobody serious or credible is denying that either.

How different things most likely would have been if not for the gross mismanagement of, and misinformation about, COVID-19 early on by the Trump administration and governments in numerous other countries. (And of course, China isn't blameless; the Chinese government's lack of transparency at the beginning of the pandemic was certainly a factor in its spread, but jeering about the "Chy-na Virus" and dismissing the pandemic as a hoax is pretty stupid, no offense.)

I know that this is probably much too mainstream-medical for a sophisticated, research-oriented person like you, but this is for others who might want a recap of the vaccinated v unvaccinated issue.

3. My “continuous hatred towards Trump and the Right in general” is based upon what I see every day happening in the US (and in too many other countries). What was once creeping authoritarianism and fascism in no longer creeping; it’s marching boldly through America’s most sacred buildings and institutions. Trump didn’t start this fire, of course, but he has fueled it steadily and continues to do so. Those who deny that, and who continue to support Trump et al., are either power-hungry cynics with a disdain for democracy, willfully blind partisans, uneducated yokels, or just plain stupid folks. Take your pick. I’ve written plenty about this for several years, and I always cite outside sources, some of which are opinion pieces but many of which are straight reporting.

4. “What happened to me” is that this blog has became increasingly political since early 2016 because of my very justified alarm about Trump and Trumpism. (But since Trump is a scammer and grifter – far worse and more dangerous than Kevin Trudeau ever could be -- he’s actually relevant to my original beat anyway.) I don’t know where you got the idea that I’ve ever been “fair and balanced” when it comes to truly awful people or scams. I’ve certainly never “paid homage” to malignant narcissists, sociopaths, or fascists.

And I don’t spend time or energy here bitching about “life treating me bad.” I’m writing, bitching, screaming, about what is happening in this country and in the rest of the world. Now, if you’re referring to my statement at the end of this very short blog post about 2021 having been a “fairly crappy year,” please note that I said “for so many people” – because that happens to be true. All things considered, Ron and I have had a pretty good year, but that doesn’t blind us to the fact that so many people around us have suffered devastating personal losses, some COVID-related, some not.

To slightly misquote a post I read recently on another blog:
"But hey, what do I know, right? I’m just one blogger, that sees sense, but gets called a Left-Wing Nut by those on the right. Damn me for doing my research. Damn me for running a website/blog that has provided facts for every single story with proof, for the last decade and a half! It’s funny how even those on the right were happy to believe and show me support when I was blogging about the likes of serial scammer Kevin Trudeau (now at home under home confinement from Camp Cupcake -- as initially revealed on THIS blog) and his former bff fake quack Leonard The Perv Coldwell (and by the way, I was blogging about Trudeau while other "scambusting" bloggers were still partying on his cruise ships and kissing Coldwell’s ass), but suddenly because I speak out against the scumbags that are republicans like Trump, McCarthy, Cruz, Gaetz, Boebert, Greene, Gohmert, and the dozens of other republican politicians who tried to violently overturn a LEGITIMATE presidential election, and who are still actively engaged in sedition… I’m now a delusional old whiner with no credible sources? LOL."
