I just wanted to pop in on this merry Christmas Eve and let you know, in case you were concerned, that my Whirled is still turning. Yes, it's been nearly three weeks since I've posted, and right now I am kind of preoccupied with some holiday-ish stuff, but don't worry, I haven't forgotten you, Dear Ones. I hope all of you are having a delightful holiday, and I'll be back soon... perhaps even as early as Boxing Day.

I'm still here...I'm just in a holidaze
I just wanted to pop in on this merry Christmas Eve and let you know, in case you were concerned, that my Whirled is still turning. Yes, it's been nearly three weeks since I've posted, and right now I am kind of preoccupied with some holiday-ish stuff, but don't worry, I haven't forgotten you, Dear Ones. LOL, savage71. Let me know how the joe vitale deal goes. Although I am sure that the opportunity to pull his finger would be worth every penny of the $5000 I am too poor to afford it right now and i am sure many others are as well. What are we supposed to do?
No worries, Anon. You may not be able to pull JV's finger, but for much less than $5k, he'll pull *your* leg. He has scads of less expensive products, such as the Psychic Demand program and the Russian Wish Dolly. It's all in good fun!
I think James Ray will be letting a lot of people pull his finger (for cigarettes).
He's going to go from guru to currency as soon as the trial's over.
I wonder if he will convert to Judaism while in jail, like George Bluth from Arrested Development.
I feel obligated to add that James hasn't been formally charged... yet.

You are so right to keep reminding us all that JR has not been charged yet. As sad as it is, I have my doubts he ever will be.
Of course, that also brings to mind the Great Bard's quote that if we got what we deserved, none of us would escape a lashing (paraphrased). That said, if ever there were actions that cried out for justice, it is those of JR and his bizzare staff.
I continue to have hope that justice, in this case, prevails.

Dave, I have my doubts too regarding charges against James Ray. Here's my thinking on it right now (and I may change my mind tomorrow or next week if new evidence comes up): While the evidence I've seen so far doesn't make me believe James Ray is guilty of first-degree murder in either Sedona or San Diego, it does seem there was criminal negligence in both cases -- and, in the case of Colleen Conaway in San Diego, it seems there was a concerted effort by James and staff to cover up the tragedy. Salty Droid has quite a bit about this on his blog.
Whether there are charges or not, will the publicity about these tragedies make a difference in the larger scheme of things? That's anyone's guess. While the tragedies at the James Ray events may have put a damper on *his* business, they may not have put much of a damper on the selfish-help business in general, including and perhaps especially in Sedona. And of course you're right about none of us being above reproach. It's just that not all of us make millions of dollars a year peddling derivative crap that occasionally turns out to be fatal.

I have to say, after reading the affidavit for a search warrant by Detective Ross Diskin, that I feel much better about justice prevailing. The good detective has a very clear perspective on the pattern of negligence that led to the three deaths in Arizona. This may turn out well for the victim's families after all.
Salty Droid continues to do great reporting, and is a bright star in the dark underbelly of the bullies of the IM world. Much as you are.
That article from Sedona, well, disgusting. The author seems to have the right attitude, but the jerks capitalizing on the tragedy, I just can't express myself on how they make me feel.
Dave: I just read that affidavit myself, and agree that Detective Diskin seems to have done his homework. It's looking worse for James Ray all the time.
