Another blogaversary!
Time flies when you're making fun...
of hustledorks and SNAGs and New-Wage scams.
A little over two years ago, I barely even knew what a blog was, and cared even less. Then one day in June of 2006, I was surfing around on the Internet and came across Steve Salerno's SHAMblog (which, incidentally, had its third blogaversary July 17 of this year. Yes, Steve, I keep track.) To make a short story even shorter, reading Steve's blog inspired me, not too long afterward, to start a blog of my own, building upon my longtime hobby of firing potshots at the Aquarian age.
And today – 27 July, 2008 – Whirled Musings is two years old.
Given my short attention span, I never thought it would last this long.
But then again, given my tendency to be obsessive about some things, I guess it's not all that surprising.
Anyway, it's been a fun two years, and I plan to keep it going till I get bored with it.
And I want to extend a big Cosmic Connie thank you to everyone for your participation!
PS ~ Even though I set the blog up and wrote a two-sentence post on July 27, the first real post came the next day. It was kind of an explanation of Whirled Musings' reason for being. In case you haven't already read it, here's the link.

Happy Anniversary Cosmic Connie! I hope you are celebrating in style. I love reading your blogs because they offer an insight into how wonderfully crap those newagers really are. Theres actually not many of them fit into the space we have been provided called earth because their egos are just too big. The rest of us "normal" people are left to fit into the crevised they allow us to. Back in my box now but enjoy the moment, you deserve it.
Thanks, Anon. I hear you on the "big egos" of the New-Wage gurus; those ginormous egos are the engine of the New-Wage industry. (And, I suppose, the longings of the gurus' followers are the fuel.)
That said, if it weren't for that mighty "engine" and that endless supply of "fuel," I'd probably have to find something else to blog about!
Happy Birthday whirled musings!
Indeedy Do!
If you get fed up of the new age you could always blog on Americuhn Lichricher- bein' a writer 'n all.
Thanks for the BD wishes, HHH. As for blogging on American Lit...nah, too literary. I think I'll stick with New-Wage stuff for now.
Has it been 2 years already? It seems like a mere decade sometimes! :-)
I fondly recall all those nights when I lie in bed, awaiting the love of my life, heartened by the knowledge that her absence grew out of her commitment to save the world from opportunistic hustledorks. I felt so noble, albeit in a pouty kinda way!
Happy Blogiversary, CC! :-)
As the song goes,
"The waiting is the hardest part..."
Well, maybe the *waiting* isn't the hardest part... :-)
Anyway, thank you for the good wishes, my love, and I promise to make it all up to you!
Long live the Cosmic Connie Blog!
You give the ordinary folk a place to rant and rave which is a good thing. Those new wage fools live off their egos but they look terribly sad when their misdemeanors are exposed. That gives us all a real laugh. That Aussie guy seems in real trouble and what a fool. Not a real smart one really but big on the ego. Anyways look forward to celebrating again next year. Hip hip horay!
Thanks, Carol! :-)
To the two guys you have on the photo the song 'WHEN NO-ONE CARES' Junior Boys comes to mind. Who gives a rats what these guys think of themselves? They are freaks.
Thanks for putting them in their place Cosmic Connie, you really do care about people.
Thank you, Curley! I appreciate your continuing support.
There are some people who do things that are absolutely unforgivable. Ironic that it is also those people who give themselves away by preaching to the public about how good they are and what they are doing to save the world. It's a sickness that only they can come to terms with and fix.
A belated congrats!
I'll pretend I was real busy and important this week, and that's why I didn't get around to saying anything earlier. But the truth was, I was goofing off.
Here's the results--

Enjoy!
Anon 6:43 PM: I don't know if anything is completely unforgiveable; maybe that's not for me to determine. But there do seem to be a lot of New-Wage gurus who spend a great deal of time bragging about the good they're doing -- when in fact they're leaving all sorts of wreckage in their wake.
Hey, Mojo, thanks for the good wishes! I am honored that you devoted a blog post to me, but frustrated because I haven't been able to view the video yet. I kept getting a message saying I needed to download Apple Quicktime Player to view it. I thought I already had that on my system but I guess I didn't. So I downloaded it but still got the message that I don't have the right plug-in or something. But something else just occurred to me...maybe if I use Internet Exploiter rather than Firefox it will work. It's worth a shot.
Anyway, I really do appreciate your support and good wishes.
Happy belated!
Blogging... what's blogging? :-)
Thanks, Lana!
Yesterday a friend of mine told Ron and me that he'd suggested to one of his longtime friends that she needed to get a hobby. He suggested trying new things and blogging about her experiences. He said that she replied, "Blogging is for idiots."
Well, maybe it is. But I'm gonna keep on with this idiocy till I get tired of it.
Anyhoo, thank you again for the congrats.
It's certainly true that a lot of idiots, as well as very scary people, are bloggers and blog followers.
Who knows how many.
But also many of the best and brightest minds on the planet are bloggers. Woo hoo!
This is what I get for whimsically deciding to make my own card out of construction paper and gold-painted macaroni instead of just sending you a Rubber Chicken card.
Apparently Flash's export-to-QT function totally mangles the file, excuses, excuses, blah blah blah.
So this silly throwaway thing--which, trust me, will NOT be worth the anticipation you're maybe building up to see it--has turned into a Major Hassle, taking me no less than SIX attepts, importing and exporting in and out of four different video applications and consequent attempted YouTubings, before it would take. Phew!
Next year I'm just sending you the damned generic card.... :)

Lana wrote, "...many of the best and brightest minds on the planet are bloggers."
Lana, that's a good way to look at it.
OTOH, "blog" is an anagram of "glob."
glob (glb)
n.
1. A small drop; a globule.
2. A soft thick lump or mass: a glob of mashed potatoes; globs of red mud.
Or globs of words and pictures....which, come to think of it, is a good description of Whirled Musings!
Mojo, I am more than honored that you would expend all that effort. You sound like someone who's just as obsessive as I am. (I bet you drive your Favorite Husband just as crazy as I drive my Favorite Spousal Equivalent (Rev Ron).)
Anyway, I love the "card." And you chose all of the best pics from my glob.
Thanks again!
Cool! We're globbers :-)
