Serial scammer Kevin Trudeau: fighting to stay out of prison with yet another scam

 

Serial scammer Kevin Trudeau (aka KT, aka Katie on this Whirled), whom we most recently visited on this November 2022 post (updated in early December), is still fighting to keep from being thrown back into prison. Earlier this month, according to Chuck Goudie and the gang of investigators at Chicago's ABC7 News, Trudeau promised the court that he really, really will pay the remainder of the fine he still owes the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for his repeated violation of consent orders in which he'd promised to stop lying to consumers about the contents of his wacko diet book, The Weight Loss Cure "They" Don't Want You To Know About. (That was for the civil contempt part of the case; he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for criminal contempt charges related to the same book.) More specifically, he says that he'll pay the fine as soon as the government will tell him exactly how much he owes, which is the same thing he's been saying for at least the past several weeks, if not years.

But if you believe that promise, then you probably also believed that #NeverWasMyPresident Donald John Trump really, really was going to release his income tax returns just as soon as the IRS finished their (nonexistent) comprehensive audit. In fact, if you still believe anything that comes out of the putrid pie hole of either Trump or Trudeau -- two turds of a feather -- you're setting yourself up for a yuuge disappointment when (if) you eventually emerge from your daze. Please get some professional help. I can only do so much on this blog.

In a recent federal court filing, Trudeau asked for more time to obtain the answer to the burning question of how much he still owes the government. (In fairness, he did reportedly try to find this out back in early 2020, when he was still confined at Federal sleepaway camp, but I was never able to learn whether or not his efforts were successful.) And while U.S. District Judge Robert Gettleman, who has been presiding over Trudeau's civil case for many years, could have thrown him back in the clink following his last court hearing, the judge chose to let Trudeau stay free-ish for now. I say free-ish because, darn it, Katie still isn't allowed to travel the world to help humanity the way he's longing to do; instead, he has to stay in the Chicago area on a pretty short leash, legally speaking. Oh, why do such bad things happen to such good people?

A foundational principle of Trudeau's decades-old scampire is his claim that the U.S. government is pure evil and that he is a long-suffering hero/martyr who is being punished merely for telling the truth about that evil. One of his current claims in this vein is that the government actually owes him money, according to the ABC7 report cited above (and here's that link again):

Trudeau actually thinks the government may owe him money, even though the FTC has just filed a 347 page report in court with a very detailed breakout and balance sheet. Trudeau gave his take during questioning in a deposition by government attorneys last Friday. At one point, he told government agents there's a possibility they owe him 400-thousand dollars in expense money.

Sure, Kev. Whatever you say.

I still don't have links to share to any of the relevant court documents regarding the most recent activities, but when/if I do obtain those links, I'll share them here. In any case, it appears that not knowing exactly how much he owes the government isn't the only obstacle standing in the way of Trudeau paying his fine. He claims that he still needs to actually raise the money to do so, and towards that end, he is poised to make his
BIGGEST Announcement...Ever!

Katie made the first big announcement of this Big Announcement via his December 21, 2022 Telegram message on The Official Kevin Trudeau Fan Club Channel. He claimed that he actually hadn't planned to make this Big Announcement until many, many years in the future, if at all, his original idea being to make the information accessible only to the very highest ranking members of his mega-scam GIN (the Global Information Network).

The reason for the exclusivity, he splained, is that the information is just too powerful, and potentially too dangerous, to be released to the general public. So incredibly powerful is the info, Kevin claimed, that even though it was known to Think and Grow Rich author Napoleon Hill -- an old-school scammer who's still worshiped and mythologized by scammers in the modern era -- Hill never released it to the public. According to Kevin, Hill testified about these principles at a Chamber of Commerce meeting way back when, and although Hill's testimony was supposedly recorded, it was never transferred to audiocassette because the audio was of such horrendous quality.

Which means, apparently, that we will all have to take lying liar Kevin Trudeau's word that the audio even exists.

The explosive information in question is something that Katie calls the Money Processes, of which there are thirty. In his Telegram message, Trudeau claimed that the Processes were part of the "training" that he went through back in the early 1970s and the 1980s. Now, since he was born in 1963, he would have been, at most, 11 years old in the early 1970s. Then again, he has often bragged about what a prodigy he was. I guess you'll just have to take that on faith too.

At any rate, the bottom line is that these Money Processes are much too mighty for the average schlub. Nevertheless, Kevin is now going to make them available to every one of those schlubs, including you and me, simply because the FTC wants the money that they claim Kevin owes them, and if he doesn't pony up, he'll be thrown back into the clink. So really, he has no choice.

Trudeau also claimed in his Telegram message that numerous elite, mega-successful business tycoons around the world have offered him millions and millions and millions of dollars to form an exclusive company with them, meaning that he could have easily earned the money to pay the fine that way. But, goodness, if he signed an exclusive deal with any of them, he would be restricted from doing all of his books and trainings and one-on-one consulting and Zoom calls and frauduct peddling and stuff like that, so he just cannot do it, because he wants to stay true to his mission of helping the world by teaching all of us schlubs how to achieve the life of our dreams.

And because he now needs to raise a bunch of money quick, we're in luck. If you tune into his Zoom call at 1:00 EST on December 31, 2022, you will get to listen to his Big Announcement, which will not only offer you information about the Money Processes, but about other "opportunities" (or flopportunities, as my pal Salty Droid used to say) as well. The Big Announcement will last an hour to an hour and a half, but presumably it will not actually include the training itself, which will cost money, which, as Katie has explained, he needs in order to pay the FTC and remain a free-ish man.

At one point towards the end of his Telegram spiel, Trudeau said that his teaching about the Money Processes will remove all of your blocks against money -- that it will be like removing a dark cloud from your brain. I wonder if this dark cloud is anything at all like the brain cloud that Joe Banks was supposedly suffering in one of my favorite movies, Joe Versus The Volcano. Be that as it may, we have Katie's solemn assurance about his Big Announcement: "This is a wonderful blessing for you."

Bless his grifting little heart.

Several folks who are ex-Trudeau loyalists/insiders, and who in their former lives put an enormous amount of time, effort, and emotional energy into supporting his scampire, have contacted me about this Big Announcement. Fortunately, they've learned their lessons about Katie's endless capacity for bullshit, and not one of them was even mildly tempted to get sucked back into the grift funnel, despite having given over a major part of their lives to Trudeau in the past. In their own way, they all said they are profoundly relieved to be away from the cult, and that it's painfully obvious to them that this latest Big Announcement is just more of the same old same old. I applaud these folks for finally seeing the light.

Unfortunately there are vast numbers of other marks and potential marks who are still vulnerable, and I know that nothing I write here will change the minds of those who are truly determined to be led by the nose into the Katie cult. But I'll keep on trying.

Meanwhile, I'm taking the rest of the year off from blogging -- that is, unless something really big comes up tomorrow, the last day of 2022. I hope all of you have a safe and happy New Year's Eve/Day, and I'll see you next year.

 

Lockdown, schlockdown -- Kevin Trudeau is still pooping out COVID-19 nuggets from Camp Cupcake

Imprisoned serial scammer Kevin Trudeau (aka KT, aka Katie), whose lengthy sales letters disguised as "updates" about the novel coronavirus disease COVID-19 we visited in my previous post, is still busily excreting his "exclusive" information that "They" don't want you to know about the contagion. Despite the fact that on March 20, 2020, he announced through a proxy that his minimum-security prison camp, FPC Montgomery (AL) was being put on lockdown status due to the coronacrisis -- and that he would be confined to his room with no phone access and almost zero email access -- the info-turds began piling up again a couple of days later. As of the publication of this post, there are a total of nine "updates."

I summarized the first three updates in my previous post, and a March 20 Trudeau Facebook missive that I'd quoted at the beginning of that post was subsequently dubbed Update # 4. In newer updates Trudeau refers to Update # 4 several times, because that's the one where he listed some of his fabricated seekrit sources, e.g., members of royal families, prime ministers of various countries, health orgs from several nations, the U.N., secret-society members, "Gurus" who can tap into the ethers and download information, plus several other sources so ultra-secret that he cannot even mention them.

In other words, as I've previously noted, it's much the same cast of mystery players that he employed to suck people into his mega-scam GIN (the Global Information Network) more than 10 years ago. But as blatantly crapitalistic as Trudeau's copy is, most of the responses on Facebook are the usual breathless praise and thanks, with some respondents even calling him, "Master."

Katie repeats his mantra that for the most part the corona scare is hysteria based on lies by the media, and he spits out more words and numbers to support his claim. He also promotes some of his buddies' scams and schemes, e.g., the Morters' B.E.S.T. system... the late Mary Miller's I Ching Systems crap... and Dr. Roger Callahan's tapping ritual, which, when practiced, makes Jack Nicholson's OCD character in the 1997 movie As Good As It Gets look like a perfectly normal person by comparison.

In this one Trudeau repeats his central conspiracy narrative about the virus, and as evidence he cites a totally imaginary conference call among top mainstream news media executives. Of course, these execs are part of the Globalist Elitist conspiracy to destroy the US economy and make sure that Donald Trump is not re-elected. There's no word on whether execs from media outlets in other parts of the world besides the US were in on the call.

The media is lying to you, misleading you and deceiving you. They are being totally irresponsible.
A conference call was held with several of the top executives of the mainstream media outlets including CNN; ABC News; NBC News; The NY Times; and several others.

Here is what was said on the call:

“We all need to work together to create as much fear and panic as possible. We can shut down and kill the US economy and make sure Trump is not reelected. If we create enough destruction to the economy, we can get the end result we want even if Trump stays in office.” 

Whatever you say, Kev. He also pushes his Natural Cures books. Again.

Redundancy, thy name is Kevin Trudeau. Among other things, Katie repeats his mantra about COVID-19 not being nearly as bad as other diseases, or wars, and he reiterates that he is the only one with exclusive access to the real corona-info from his secret sources such as world leaders, the Bilderbergs, members of Skull and Bones, royalty, et al. (Fortunately, he adds, GIN also has access to the data, and you can too, but only if you join GIN.) 

Once again Trudeau offers a laundry list of ominous possibilities that are fundamental to contemporary conspiranoia: gun confiscation, martial law, a one-world police force, nano-bots, chem-trails, etc. It will probably come as no big surprise that he enjoins his readers to stay tuned because he, and only he, has the correct information.

Best of all, he says, there will be wonderful money opportunities for those in the know.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: This virus will pass without a worldwide fatality rate anywhere close to the above horrific numbers [he is referring to his previously cited stats from the Black Plague, World War II, the Spanish flu, the Hong Kong flu of 1968, etc.] 

When this is over, there will be a global SURGE of prosperity and health.

There are financial opportunities all around the world now like I have never seen in my life. People will look back and say “I wish I lived in 2020 when all the great opportunities were just lying around for the taking”.

Of course you have to stay tuned to Katie's BS channel (and/or join GIN) in order to get the scoop on those financial ops.

Aaaand... Katie is off and running again with his beloved one-world conspiracy and the dump-Trump plot.

This "Coronavirus (Covid-19)" hysteria is a trial run for more "centralized control" by attempting to destroy the world's economy, thus creating an urgent "need" for more governmental power, thus eliminating more of our freedoms.

The MAIN reason for this Virus hysteria, however, is to destroy the US economy and get Trump out of office so that the Globalists can take over again.

As the government tries to take more control, it will be touted as "For Your Own Good and Safety". In fact, people will DEMAND giving up their freedoms out of irrational fear.

Yawn.

Now, don't get me wrong. I too worry about the possibility (probability?) of folks giving up freedoms on what they think is a temporary basis, and discovering too late that those freedoms are gone for good. But I think that most truly observant people are fundamentally worried about Trump himself, and other authoritarian "leaders" throughout the world, who pose far bigger threats in this area than any virus ever could. From The Atlantic:

While a disciplined autocrat such as [Hungary's prime minister Viktor] Orbán might be more obviously dangerous to American democracy than an erratic one such as Trump, the latter’s actions fit a similar template that bodes ill for American institutions. Recent history shows that authoritarian populists engage in six categories of assaults on democracy, of which seizing raw executive power is but one. As president, Trump has engaged in each of these behaviors: spreading disinformation, quashing dissent, politicizing independent institutions, amassing executive power, delegitimizing communities, and corrupting elections.

And this, from the New York Times:

In Hungary, the prime minister can now rule by decree. In Britain, ministers have what a critic called “eye-watering” power to detain people and close borders. Israel’s prime minister has shut down courts and begun an intrusive surveillance of citizens. Chile has sent the military to public squares once occupied by protesters. Bolivia has postponed elections.

As the coronavirus pandemic brings the world to a juddering halt and anxious citizens demand action, leaders across the globe are invoking executive powers and seizing virtually dictatorial authority with scant resistance.

Governments and rights groups agree that these extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. States need new powers to shut their borders, enforce quarantines and track infected people. Many of these actions are protected under international rules, constitutional lawyers say.

But critics say some governments are using the public health crisis as cover to seize new powers that have little to do with the outbreak, with few safeguards to ensure that their new authority will not be abused.

Defenders of Trudeau might argue that he has properly called out the frightening prospect of governments taking more control for the "good and safety" of the populace. But he doesn't go far enough. Because he refuses to call out Donald Trump and other authoritarian/right-wing leaders as part of the problem, instead concentrating his political gripes on the left and "liberals," he has done a half-ass job at best of defining the real threat.

And to suggest, as Trudeau repeatedly does, that the entire coronavirus scare is a devious worldwide plot to get Donald Trump out of office is either disingenuous or idiotic... but consider the source.

After reiterating all of the nefarious things that the Global Elite are cooking up, Katie reassures you that you don't have to live in fear about whether or not their plans will come to fruition, because even if the worst happens, you can be free of all that.

The key is being able to live and have your “consciousness” and physical body, out of this “matrix”. You need to be “awake” and totally informed. You need to stay out of the “trance”. Then you can live your life with complete freedom and without fear.

You will prosper in every area of your life.

You will be part of the “Third Class” of people: Those who are FREE.

And in this case, you will live better than you have ever lived in your life. You will be happier and more at peace than you could have ever imagined. You will be free on all levels and all dimensions. You will be “liberated” and more “conscious” than ever before.

Many will reach “enlightenment”.

You will experience the best physical health you could ever imagine. You will prosper and thrive in ways that you never dreamed possible.

This is one reason why being a member of The Global Information Network will be so valuable.

Members will know how to live out of the “matrix”.

Members will not be walking around in a “trance”, virtually hypnotized by the “powers that be”.

Members will be left alone and allowed to prosper.

In fact, Members will be HELPED to prosper and be given many advantages.

Members will “see everything” and be “totally aware”... 

But then he goes on to provide a couple of links on the GuruKev site that outline his vision of "The Club" and "The Ship," but do not specifically refer to the Global Information Network. Again, this raises the question -- which I first asked in my GuruKev post in December 2019 -- of whether Trudeau's real agenda is to promote what's left of GIN, or to lay the groundwork for a rival club whose members he will poach from GIN. In the end I suppose it really doesn't matter, because it's all bull.

This one begins with Katie patting himself on the back -- again -- by claiming that all of the "predictions" in his previous updates are coming true. He also accuses "Them" of manipulating COVID-19 data to make the virus appear much worse than it actually is.

For example:

• a doctor can look at anyone who dies and say “we ASSUME he died of the coronavirus” and add him to the numbers even though no test was performed to verify if that person even had the virus! FRAUD!

• If a person dies of natural causes and HAD the virus and had fully recovered, he is still counted as being killed BY the virus instead of simply dying WITH the virus! FRAUD!

While it is true that there is some confusion surrounding death and mortality rates for COVID-19, there are legitimate reasons for this: reasons that have nothing to do with fraud, or with a cabal of Global Elites manipulating data in order to get Trump out of the picture so the Globalists can have their way with the helpless world.

The false claim that the mainstream media (and the Democrats/liberals) have been seriously inflating the number of COVID-19 deaths may be comforting to many, but pushing this claim is also a cynical political strategy for some. It has certainly become a rallying cry among Trump supporters and right-wing pundits and factions. So, even apart from his commercial motives (or, on the other hand, perhaps intimately related to them), it's no surprise that Kevin Trudeau, who seems to have firmly staked his claim with the Trumpsters and right-wingers, would be repeating this assertion.

Much less comforting is the likelihood that COVID-19 deaths are being under-counted. From an externally-sourced opinion piece in The National Memo:

New York City’s Health Department breaks down its data for COVID-19 deaths by identifying how many of the deceased had underlying conditions, how many did not, and how many for whom that information is currently unknown. Some online conspiracy theorists have argued that only the death toll for the tiny fraction of cases without underlying conditions should be considered, a frame subsequently adopted by some right-wing media figures. But as the Daily Dot noted in demolishing this talking point, a large percentage of Americans have at least one of the listed conditions, which include high blood pressure, asthma, and diabetes.

In fact, COVID-19’s death toll is almost certainly being undercounted. The Wall Street Journal analyzed data from Italy and concluded that as the virus stretched the health care system to its breaking point, “many people who die from the virus don’t make it to the hospital and are never tested,” and thus are not included in the official count. By comparing the number of deaths in particular communities to the same period a year ago, the Journal concluded that the true count is “far higher” than the recorded one. Evidence from Spain and anecdotal reports from the United States suggest that the Italian experience is not an anomaly.

But that hasn’t kept leading right-wing media figures, including people from both Fox News’ “opinion” and “news” sides, from pushing the flawed argument that the count is being exaggerated.

And it clearly won't stop Trudeau from pushing that argument in the service of furthering his own marketing agenda.

Never one to miss a marketing op, Katie also uses this update to promote his Natural Cures books once again, claiming that following the "advice" in these books could save your life right now.

But perhaps the most amusing bit is when he slides back into his wise-spiritual-guru shtick, waxing both religious and new-agey love-and-light-ish. Notwithstanding his many years of railing against governments and central banks, he asks his followers now to place their trust in these institutions, and, oh, yes, in 'the loving "Creator."'

All around the world, governments, central banks, and industry are extremely well-capitalized and will continue to take aggressive measures to make the “financial pain and suffering” as minimal as possible and last for as short amount of time as possible.

Think about this: When you get on a plane, you relax, even though you don’t know who the pilot is.

When you get on a ship, you relax, even though you don’t know the captain.

You get on a bus, a train, or in a taxi and feel totally at ease and safe, even though you don’t know who is doing the driving.

Then why don’t you relax RIGHT NOW and feel safe and at ease, knowing that the loving “Creator” is totally in control and all this is just a play of consciousness?

All is VERY well indeed my friends. [smiley emoji]

Think about this.

Most importantly, always wash your hands well. And every time you do, remember whose hands you are in!

You are loved and protected by a loving benevolent “Creator” who has everything under control.

So if the loving benevolent "Creator" has everything under control, why the f?!k do the rubes need Katie to guide them through these troubling times and those to come? Or is he insinuating that he is the "Creator?" I have no doubt that if he came right out and said he is, at least some of those Facebook fans would say, "Amen!"

I know I'm getting redundant with these warnings that Kevin Trudeau is, always has been, and always will be a scammer. Maybe you're tired of hearing it from me. But I'm far from the only one saying it, and I wish more people would listen.

In a recent GINtruth post, my blogging colleague Bernie reminds readers of how Trudeau ruthlessly exploited the 2012 hysteria. Bernie links to a 2012 GINtruth post in which is embedded one of numerous videos of Trudeau's empty promises of information that "They" don't want you to know. If you weren't aware of that scam, or if you'd simply like a reminder, watch the video. It's only a snippet, the tip of a toxic iceberg, and most of Trudeau's 2012 promos are long gone from the web. But many of us remember how he relentlessly and aggressively used false promises of lifesaving 2012 info to manipulate hundreds of people to join GIN or to upgrade their membership to "higher" and progressively more pricey levels. As a direct result of his coercive marketing, millions of dollars were poured into what was in effect a slush fund for Trudeau.

And December 21, 2012 came and went... and nothing happened. Please remember this if you're tempted to believe that Kevin Trudeau actually has any information of value about COVID-19, or anything else.

And know that now, as always, Trudeau is selling himself as an indispensable resource for information not because he cares about you, but because he has found it to be an effective way to pick your pocket as he rolls out one frauduct or flopportunity after another.

Conspiracist quackery, fear mongering, and modernity’s rudderless social media fascism are all rooted in blatant fucking scammery. Fighting back against scaled fraud would be the most effective way of beating back the world’s worst things (without implicating free speech concerns). Maybe these assholes believe some of the shite they spew (not likely), but their primary motivation is in the fleecing of America’s poor and middle classes.

That certainly applies to Kevin Trudeau.

Rumors of Kevin Trudeau's imminent release from prison are flying, with a little help from Kevin himself

Today I popped onto Facebook to see if there were any updates on imprisoned serial scammer Kevin Trudeau, aka KT, aka Katie on this Whirled, whose "GuruKev" shtick I blogged about in December and again earlier this month. Was I surprised to see the news that he is going to be released from prison very soon, presumably far ahead of his first eligible release date in May 2022.

Well, maybe calling it "news" is a bit of a stretch. So far there's just the word of one of his pseudonymous supporters who claims to have heard the word straight from Katie himself. Looking it over, it appears to me to be just another gimmick to fire up the base and pull in more money. But you be the judge. And if you do actually have any real information about this matter, I'm all eyes.

What I saw today was a January 20, 2020 cross-posting, on several Katie-friendly Facebook pages, of a message from someone going by the name "Rahelios," who claims to be a KT friend and mentee.

On the Kevin Trudeau Teachings page, on which I found to my surprise that I am allowed to comment (for the time being, anyway), I posted a brief question: 'Is this for real, or is this just one of those law-of-attraction tricks where you "act as if" and pretend it's happening, hoping that the Universe will make it so?' So far I haven't received a response, but I'll update if I do.

Several participants on the various Facebook threads also asked for details. A couple of folks wondered if maybe the Free Kevin contingent had finally gotten through to Donald Trump, to whom Kevin's fans have been sending hundreds of annoying messages for several years -- messages that Trump himself probably never saw. (I've written about that matter several times here.) A few folks even expressed skepticism about the news of the imminent release. But the Kevin fans who asked for clarification didn't get any satisfactory answers either, at least not that I could see.

I tried to find out who "Rahelios" was, and on what authority he based the announcement of a possible early release for Katie. My cursory search only led me to a "Letter From a Friend" on the Kevin Trudeau dot com site; Rahelios was tagged as the author, although that was not the name that appeared on the signature. (This led me to an original erroneous conclusion that Rahelios was just a pseudonym for the person who signed the letter, Eugene Gourevitch. More on that in a while) And although it may seem like a bit of a diversion from the original point of this post, here is the link to the letter, which is important to some of the larger themes on this blog.

The missive is rife with the usual free-speech-martyr lies and distortions that Trudeau and his minions and followers have been spouting for years. There's the big lie that Katie got thrown in the clink just for writing a book that had info that "they" don't want you to know about. (It's a variation on the big fib that he was prosecuted and persecuted simply for saying on TV that a diet was "easy.") There's the lie that he wasn't even charged with a crime but that his long sentence was chiefly the result of the petty vengeful nature of a federal judge. There's the lie that his 10-year sentence is the longest ever imposed for contempt (I cited two longer contempt sentences in a February 2016 blog post; see links at the end of this post).

There's even the lie that Trudeau was living comfortably in Europe when his troubles began. Nope, his troubles began decades before he was semi-hiding out in Zurich (and accused the ABC News team that tracked him down in that expensive city of "ambush journalism"). Yes, it's true that for a while, in the time leading up to his criminal trial, he did travel from his luxury digs in Zurich in order to show up in the US for court hearings when his presence was required. But it wasn't to "stand up for OUR RIGHTS and OUR FREEDOMS"; it was most likely a combination of an arrogant assumption that he would end up getting off easy, and an effort to make it look as if he was trying to cooperate with the US government's "unreasonable" requests. However, his passport was ultimately confiscated, and he was forbidden to travel back to Zurich when he asked the court for permission. At that point he was apparently deemed too much of a flight risk.

Unsurprisingly, the Letter From a Friend also includes the obligatory praise for Kevin's character and "honor" and his seemingly superhuman powers.

I did not want to make this letter too personal, but Kevin has been as good a friend to me as anyone could possibly wish for, whether in prison or on the street… There is no place you could ever get to know a person as well as you do living next to them 24-hours a day, seven days a week for almost three years in close quarters. You don’t even spend that much time with your spouse or children.

Kevin is truly one of the most honorable people I have ever met and I’m proud to know a person of such rare vintage.

They just don’t make ’em like that anymore. [smiley emoji]

I also admire his fortitude and constant cheer and sense of inner peace in the light of the massive injustice that has been perpetrated upon him. He is always blissfully happy, and nothing ever “gets him down”. His attitude is simply “superhuman”.

Kevin was living a comfortable life in Europe when this drama started to unfold. He did not have to come back to America to face these ridiculous “contempt of court” charges brought against him by a single vindictive judge. He did so to stand up for OUR RIGHTS and OUR FREEDOMS. Please take a few minutes out of your day to do the same for him. 

The letter is signed, as I noted above, by Eugene Gourevitch, who is apparently one of Katie's former prison buds. If the name Eugene Gourevitch sounds familiar, it may be because Gourevitch, like Kevin Trudeau, is a crook and liar, who helped rob a former Soviet republic blind, and whose wild and crazy story was written up in Bloomberg a few years ago. Gourevitch was convicted of wire fraud related to insider trading, and sentenced to five years in prison.

Here's a summary of the tale, just in case you can't get past Bloomberg's paywall.

...After then helping his captors perpetrate a massive insider-trading scheme, Gourevitch became desperate to escape. He had authorities bearing down on him from Kyrgyzstan, as well as from Italy, where he was accused of taking part in a tax avoidance scheme that somehow involved the Italian mob.

With seemingly nowhere else to go, he turned to the U.S. government to become an informant against his captors, even though he knew he would be implicated as well.

But deep into the investigation, Gourevitch suddenly reverted to his criminal ways. He stole $6 million from Bakiyev’s bank account and tried to undermine the authorities’ investigation. He ended up getting busted and turned over the cash to the U.S. government...

So let me get this straight. A known crook, fraudster, and liar -- Eugene Gourevitch -- is not only giving his wholehearted endorsement to a second crook, fraudster, and liar -- Kevin Trudeau -- but, more importantly, he is urging you to show your support for Trudeau in any way you can (including, by implication, monetarily).

Even though Gourevitch didn't go on about "energetic merits" or about a Big Event in the future to which only people who had given money to Kevin will be invited, he still urged everyone to educate themselves about Kevin's "travails" and to "support" him in his noble fight against "tyranny." This implies monetary support as well as advocacy efforts, though Gourevitch's ask re the former isn't as blatant as that in the messages by Rahelios and others who have apparently been managing Trudeau's messaging since he has been incarcerated. I know from long years of covering Trudeau on this blog that every message from him or his proxies or his good buddies involves either the intention to sell/upsell a frauduct or flopportunity; outright solicitation for money; or both.

Gourevitch's "Letter From a Friend" is yet another reminder of the well-documented fact that prisons, whether they're grim holes or white-collar sleepaway camps, aren't so much corrective facilities as they are incubators for further crime. Kevin Trudeau is proof of that.

After all, it was while he was incarcerated back in the early 1990s that he met a convicted cocaine distributor named Jules Lieb, with whom he struck up a business partnership following their release. They went to work for an MLM firm called Nutrition for life but were operating through their own company, Trudeau Marketing, through which they sold a variety of frauducts while aggressively recruiting other distributors. Trudeau and Lieb were eventually nailed for operating an illegal pyramid scheme and for failing to disclose felony convictions and bankruptcy, as the law required.

It was also during that first prison stint that Trudeau reportedly met Nouveau Tech/Neo-Tech scampire founder Wallace Ward (father of Neo-stinker "Mark Hamilton," aka Wallace Ward Jr.). The Wards, particularly the younger one, were instrumental in helping Trudeau sell the GIN scam, particularly targeting older consumers who had more money than sense.

And since he's been at FPC Montgomery, Katie has been working nonstop to keep old schemes going and cook up new ones with some of his roomies. Besides Eugene Gourevitch, who at the very least seems to be laying a foundation for some future venture with Trudeau, there's foreclosure-rescue scammer Jason Sant, whom I mentioned in my December 2019 GuruKev post. Apparently inspired by Kevin, Sant started a scheme he calls the SCC Mastery Course.

Leopards and spots, Dear Ones, leopards and spots...

It's not that I think everyone with a felony conviction should be thrown to the wolves and never given a second or possibly even a third chance. I don't feel that way in general; to the contrary, I lean towards a "ban the box" philosophy. But Kevin Trudeau is a lifelong con artist, a repeat offender whose scams and offenses are very well documented. The writing is on the wall (and on the Internet, and everywhere else that there's writing).

Sadly, though, none of that seems to matter much to Katie's fan base. And if the comments on the various Facebook pages are any indication, there's still a very enthusiastic base of people who are willing to swallow Kevin Trudeau's hero/martyr story, as well as his present and future schemes, hook, line, and sinker. In fact, there seem to be a significant number of fans and followers who don't even know that Trudeau is in prison. A couple of them on the Facebook threads I cited above were completely unaware that he's locked up, and they wanted to know what had happened. Clearly his propaganda is being disseminated by sources that fail to mention his troubled history and current incarceration.

So will Kevin Trudeau soon be free from prison? Your guess is as good as mine. But I suggest taking everything that he says, and that his cronies and enthusiastic supporters say he said, with more than a few grains of salt, and possibly a giant margarita to accompany that salt, if that's your thing. (Have one for me; I don't drink alcohol.) I'll keep you posted about this, and I hope that you'll do the same for me.

PS added 25 January, 2020 ~ I hadn't seen this link at the time I published this post, but I  stumbled across it yesterday. It's a page from the site of an advocacy organization, Keeping a Family Foundation/Saving Grace, founded by a man named John O. Sinclair, that ministers to prisoners/ex-prisoners and their families. Sinclair was another one of Kevin Trudeau's prison buddies, and Trudeau and other cons such as Enron's notorious Jeff Skilling wrote letters that Sinclair says helped influence the decision for his early release. (Here is a direct link to Trudeau's letter, dated September 2018.)

Pending my actually being able to find out more information about Sinclair (such as the reason for his imprisonment), I am not automatically going to relegate him to the status of serial scammer. (And no, he's not the John Sinclair that comes up most often on the search results; that other guy is a white poet who was given an excessive prison sentence for marijuana charges.) If this John Sinclair is doing legitimate work to help deserving people who are or were in prison, particularly people of color who unjustly received harsher punishment than their white counterparts, more power to him. But I'm thinking that perhaps he needs to choose his friends more carefully.

 Addendum, 26 January 2020


It is becoming more and more apparent that rumors of Kevin Trudeau's imminent release from prison have been greatly exaggerated, and the source of that exaggeration is, indeed, Kevin himself, as I'd speculated earlier. It is also becoming increasingly apparent that the Global Information Network (GIN) still has a cozy relationship with Kevin, even though he no longer has "official" ownership. They haven't turned their backs on him, nor he on them.

Since I first published this blog post there has been another Important Announcement, not only on several Facebook pages, but also on the official GIN site, regarding Trudeau. This one seems to walk back the previous Facebook messages about the imminence of Trudeau's release. And it purports to be straight from the incarcerated horse's mouth.
In a nutshell: GIN is actively promoting its incarcerated founder, Kevin Trudeau -- or, more accurately, using him to promote their "Level 8" training. Well, actually, they're doing both.
