Kevin Trudeau freed from jail! (sort of)

Ha. Made you look, didn't I?

Another hearing was held today, March 19, regarding serial scammer Kevin Trudeau's civil case. And indeed, Judge Gettleman signed an order suspending Katie's coercive incarceration on the civil matter.

Obviously the court decided they aren't going to shake any money or info out of him, though they've been trying for months and months. That whole "coercive incarceration" thing has yielded little more than huge receiver bills and a series of schlocky Facebook posts from Katie's long-time associate, former co-defendant, and ex-squeeze, Janine Nubani Contursi (who reportedly admitted in open court today that she is the one writing those stupid posts, although I've yet to confirm that from a credible source).

So Judge Gettleman suspended the civil incarceration.

But don't be too quick to either celebrate or become outraged. The only reason His Honor suspended this cage gig is so Trudeau can begin serving his ten-year criminal sentence, which was imposed this past Monday, March 17.
Here's a closeup (click to enlarge):

So for Katie, it's out one cage and in the other. Moreover, as soon as he is released from prison on the criminal case -- whenever that may be -- he has to report to Judge Gettleman's court (or whoever is there in the judge's place) so the court can determine if he needs to be thrown back in jail for the CIVIL case. While he is serving his criminal sentence he doesn't have to appear in court for future hearings.

The next status hearing regarding the receivership and other matters is scheduled for June 27, 2014 at 10:00 AM.

Some of the GIN destroyers who so deeply long for that neat and tidy movie-script ending are crowing that GIN is finally, finally, finally dead. Well... not so fast.

I wasn't in court today so, obviously, I don't know what was said there, but so far nothing has been posted on PACER that contradicts the information in the receiver's March 17report, which says that they plan to sell the GIN intellectual property and that there are several interested buyers. The court has to approve, of course.

After that the buyers, presumably, can do what they want with it. They can continue to call it GIN or they can re-name and completely re-brand, and even create new content based on the content for which they have bought the rights. For many folks, though, the dream won't die, and there are other similar "clubs" and "master's societies" that are a ripoff of GIN.
Some of them are run by characters as shady as Katie, or worse.

Speaking of which, Ohio's Perry Kiraly -- former high-level GIN member, former Intervenor in Katie's civil case, and now founding honcho (along with Scientologist Yon Cole) of a new GIN ripoff called World Information Network (WIN) -- sent out another update on the evening of Trudeau's sentencing. Not one word did he say about his former fearless leader being sentenced to a decade in lockup. But he did reiterate his great flopportunity,
discussed previously here.

WIN Update: Perry Kiraly

March 17, 2014

Dear WIN Members & Supporters,

WIN has two new extraordinary announcements.

First, the opportunity to purchase the FIVE YEAR THREE PERCENT OF MEMBERSHIP GROSS SALES UNITS is being extended until the end of this month.

Second, in recognition of the extraordinary commitment by those former GIN members known as Inner Circle, WIN intends to initiate an exclusive gross membership sales offering after WIN’s official site launch on or about May 1st 2014 for former Inner Circle Members who have participated in this offering.

This opportunity for the purchase of units and participation in the exclusive Inner Circle offer will be made available for 14 more days until March 31st 2014. All payments must be received or in route and verified via tracking number by March 31st 2014. The computation for payment on this offer will begin on April 1st 2014.

200 "Units" total were made available for purchase at $2,000.00 per unit through a Private Placement Memorandum on March 9th 2014. Units are still available for purchase but purchase requests come in daily and once the 200 total is reached no further units can legally be sold from this offer.

Each "unit" will pay the purchaser of that unit or units a share of 3% of the gross sales of the World Information Network Foundation LTD (WIN) for the next five years. This five-year period will be extended, if necessary, until a minimum total of 500% or $10,000.00 is paid back on each $2,000.00 unit purchased. During the initial five year period this percentage could exceed 500% depending on the growth of the club. A more detailed grid of the payout based on membership growth is in the Private Placement Memorandum (PPM) that will be sent to you upon request.

Be sure and email WIN before March 31st 2014 at
[email redacted] to receive the Private Placement Memorandum necessary to purchase units or call [phone number redacted] for further details or questions. WIN’s attorney is also available for any questions regarding this offer.

WIN is just getting started. It is the vehicle that will take our club into the future. It is the vehicle backed and driven by the best this club has known up to this point.

Be, Do, & Have is the process we were trained in and that process has begun. WIN now is. It exists, and you and I and all of its supporters know what we intend this club to Be.

We are now at the Do stage and funding is an integral part of that doing. It is the accelerating catalyst that will move us toward our goal quickly. Our goal - the continuation of creating a club dedicated to providing the tools, training, events and gatherings that will enable all that make use of them, the ability to dream again, create whatever life they choose, and recognize what truly powerful Beings they are.

Come to present time and take advantage of this opportunity to play your part as a Founding Member in the ongoing creation of the highest ideals upon which our club began and the ultimate creation of the best club on the planet.

Then we will Have - and not just us but all of those that join our club in the future and utilize what we’ve initiated here, to change their lives and change the world.

Thank you,

Perry Kiraly
So, GIN or no GIN, Scamworld will go on. Those of you who need to join a club and throw large amounts of money down a hole in order to feel special can take your pick of several flopportunities.

And meanwhile, Katie sleeps peacefully in a cell somewhere, content to trust in "Devine Timing" (could this have something to do with his long-time buddy from the Hybrid Group?)... while Janine natters on and on and on, and Nelson Mandela rolls over in his grave.

PS ~ It appears that some of the mainstream journos are finally starting to see the comedy gold in Janine-as-Katie's silly Facebook posts, which I've been throwing potshots at since November. Here's NBC5 Chicago's Phil Rogers, for instance.
And
here's my first post about the silliness (19 November 2013), including (later on, in the comments section) some lyrics that seem more appropriate now than ever. And here, just in time for last year's Xmas holidays, is a tale of a seasonal miracle.

  1. What a bunch of back stabbing traitors they all turned out to be.

In spite of you-know-who's YouTube celebrations and his declaration of "mission complete" - this story is NOT over by a long shot.

I'm looking forward to the day when every person behind those GIN clones gets nailed.

  2. Dang it, CC!

Here I was...relaxed, even euphoric as I savored the sweet taste of surrogate victory embodied in every word of your post. Yup! I was feelin' real good. Life couldn't have been better...until...Wham! I clicked on Jesus'...I mean KT's message of love for all, including his persecutors, at the end of your post.

I hope you know what it's like to be preparing for a good night of rest and sweet dreams, only to find yourself dealing with a mouthful of emesis. Yeah, I threw up in my mouth on accounta having to look at KT's message of forgiveness and (did I say) love.

Seriously, I hope you're giving yourself time to bask in your success. You've done more than your part to keep the KT saga alive in the public's consciousness long enough for justice to be served.

High five, handshake, fist bump and all that sent your way:-),
    Roger

  3. Yes, David, there's no honor among thieves, and the backstabbing is to be expected. I agree that the story isn't over -- no neat and tidy endings, in other words. Katie still has his legions of fans, the solicitations for his legal defense fund and appeal are in full swing, and his martyr's crown is being polished to a golden gleam, now that he has finally been sentenced.

And lest anyone forget, the "mission" to cage him was carried out largely by the very government that the self-proclaimed heroes so loathe, as even they have admitted. Abe didn't cage him and cripple GIN. Loony Coldwell didn't do it. I didn't do it. Bernie at GINtruth didn't do it. Even Salty Droid didn't do it.

"The Man" did it (as, in fact, my pal Salty pronounced to me would happen, in some correspondence we exchanged nearly two years ago).

Abe has indicated numerous times that he has learned his lesson, and that he is above being scammed now that he's out of GIN. But this is the same guy who is now proudly spending $200 a month on "live stem cell" pills made from sheep placenta and imported from Switzerland. And he's the same guy who proudly touts the work of numerous other Scamworld gurus. Yet he scoffs at others who are still in GIN or those who are in MLMs, saying that if they get screwed they will deserve it.

Here's the thing: As long as people are willing to be fooled, there will be hucksters who are more than willing to step up to the plate, whether they're pushing placenta pills, colon cleansers, MLMs, or "Masters Societies."

I seriously doubt that every person behind the GIN ripoffs will get nailed, but I quite understand the sentiment!

  4. Addendum to my comment in response to David: I realize that Abe never specifically said his "mission" was to see Kevin Trudeau thrown in jail, but he *has* often said his mission was to destroy GIN and bring Trudeau down. That's why he has been saying "mission accomplished" for a few months now.

Also, there's really no guarantee at this point that GIN is dead, although it is a pale shadow of its former self now that Katie is no longer at the helm.

  5. Hi Connie,

I admit the title made me look for sure lol!

Is the transcript for the March 17th sentencing available yet? I would greatly appreciate your posting a link to it!!

    Michael

  6. Thanks for stopping in, Roger! I really appreciate your support. But I don't feel that there is any "success" for me to bask in at this point. I have made an effort to keep the story alive, even when the mainstream journalists (except possibly for those in Chicago) didn't see that there was anything in particular to report. I have also tried to report facts along with opinions, in order to balance out the sensationalist, cherry-picked, half-assed "reporting" from some of the self-proclaimed heroes in this saga.

Even so, this story isn't over yet, and I am still uncomfortable about non-violent scammers being thrown in cages...

But I agree with you that the Facebook posts written on Katie's behalf are vomit-worthy.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Michael: Unfortunately the transcript isn't yet available in any way that I can access it. Perhaps if I were in Chicago I could get it from the public terminal at the courthouse. But for now... no go. I will get it (or a link) as soon as I can, though.

  8. So, Kev vows an appeal, and is asking his followers for financial support to that end. For an amount ranging from $50.00 to $5,000.00, one can can contribute to the KT Legal Defense Fund.

“I might get the verdict overturned and/or the sentence reduced. The Universe knows what is best and perfect. You must to trust Devine (SIC) Timing. I will use my time in prison, however long that turns out to be, to my advantage.”

If I have this right, federal sentencing guidelines call for 20 to 25 years in prison, a range that District Judge Ronald Guzman said he thought was “appropriate”, due to the size of the fraud and Trudeau’s two previous felony convictions. However, Guzman eventually agreed with prosecutors who said a 10-year term was sufficient since -- unlike in many fraud cases -- no one who bought Trudeau’s book was financially ruined.

What grounds would they have for an appeal? He only got 10 instead of the 20 -25 he could have gotten. Maybe he should just shut his mouth and take his lumps before Guzman reconsiders on an appeal.

Besides, 10 years isn't so bad. Just think of it as four installments of only 2.5 years.

  9. "I agree with you that the Facebook posts written on Katie's behalf are vomit-worthy."

The latest post on his Facebook page by Trevor Millar has to absolutely take the cake for pure nuttiness!

"Kevin Trudeau is so bad ass. A rebel of forgiveness and compassion. After getting sentenced to 10 year in jail by a corrupt system set out against him, check out his status update:

"Had a great nights sleep after the sentencing! Mandela got 28 years, I was blessed to get only 10. I have deep love and appreciation for the Judge and the prosecutors. Please send them love."

You want to know how Jesus reacted after hearing he was going to the cross? "Forgive them, they know not what they do". This attitude is the future."

  10. Good points about the appeal, Doc Bunkum. I also agree about the nuttiness of the Kevin-Jesus comparison. But his followers and enablers have been flogging that theme for a while.

  11. By the way, y'all, I mentioned at the beginning of this post that Janine Nubani Contursi had reportedly admitted in court that she is the one writing the Facebook posts on Kevin's behalf. But I indicated that I had not yet verified this from a credible source.

In my mention of Janine's supposed courtroom confession I was drawing upon a post Abe Husein had written during one of his VICTORY!! updates on Facebook yesterday (March 19). In one of the comments he made following a thread he'd initiated about Trudeau's civil court hearing, Abe wrote, "Jeanie [sic], KY's x lover told the court that it is her posting and the posts r not from KY."

But a Facebook participant named Fahmeeda Hameed said she attended the March 19 civil case hearing. She said Janine did not speak in court at all.

Fahmeeda had also attended the criminal sentencing on March 17. Here is what she wrote about Ed Foreman's disruptive activities:

"Ed Foreman stood up and approached the bench to make a statement on Kevin's behalf. He started out by saying that he was a former US Congressman and 2 US Marshalls approached him and the judge told him to sit down and not disrupt the decorum of court or he would be expelled. Ed sat down.

"Later, the judge asked if there were any objections from Kevin's attorneys and Ed raised his hand and asked to speak. The Marshalls approached him to expel him but he would not stand up. Somehow he wound up sitting on the floor and the marshalls had to lift him up and carry him away. I have not seen such demonstrations of civil disobedience since the 60s! He was taken into custody. Later, the Department of Justice reported that he was ticketed/fined for disrupting the court and required to pay a $175 ticket/fine."

This is a far cry from the earlier reports we'd gotten from Abe, who initially said Foreman had been sent to prison because he was part of the fraud, and who later said Foreman had lunged at the judge like a crazy person.

Obviously Abe wasn't there; more than likely he got tidbits of information from people who were, and then embellished it as he saw fit. "If the story is good the facts don't matter."

  12. While KT goes down today, Looney is enjoying today a bit of notariety on a very popular alternative media website called Before It's New's. How ironic its short name is BIN (not connected in any way to GIN). Millions of users go there, as I myself like it alot. But I had to get the barf bag out when I saw this front page thread in the Editors Pick, even.

    http://beforeitsnews.com/alternative/2014/03/can-all-cancer-be-cured-in-less-than-12-weeks-2922418.html

I don't dismiss the other naturalists mentioned in the article, just the Looney parts.

  13. Thank you, Anon (Friday, March 21, 2014 2:26:00 AM). Loony C gets pretty much all of his exposure on alt-sites. I am beginning to suspect that the mainstream media think he's too silly for them to bother with. Or maybe they're just afraid of his mighty legal team. :-)

Anyway, thank you for providing that link. I've seen some interesting content on Before It's News but have also seen a lot of questionable stuff. Even some of the other folks mentioned in the article you linked to are questionable, such as Jim Humble and his MMS and MMS2 "miracle" cure for cancer and AIDS. Some additional perspective there...
    http://healthwyze.org/index.php/component/content/article/320-jim-humbles-mms-fraud.html

I noticed that even though BIN published the Coldwell-featured article just yesterday (March 20), it's actually a reprint of an older article, apparently first written back when Coldwell was in GIN. And it still promotes GIN, in conjunction with Coldwell. Ha!
